Create movie with students narrating a story from a class book. My daughter participated in this in Miss Reimer's class last year. She loved it!
  • Find book class would like to bring to life. Typically read aloud books.
  • Collect photos - scan the book pages
  • Print on large paper to create Story boards
  • Have students work in groups of three to write and practice their parts on the story board sheets.
  • teacher provides feedback for each group.
  • green screen can be a green sheet from Target - $10
  • additional lighting is important
  • shouldn't wear green on day of video shoot
  • use a green screen enabled video software - iMovie works (new versions have it automatically built in, v.6 needs an additional purchased effect).
  • copyright question came up with respect to scanned pictures from book. Hmmm....
  • could have students draw their own pictures for each page of book to circumvent
  • post it on Teacher Tube or other site - maybe better on a blog or private classroom site
